CPS QA/Certification Advisor

Under minimal supervision, the QA / Certification Analyst independently certifies the quality of new and existing products by executing comprehensive test plans and certification scenarios. This role supports End-to-End Certifications and Host Test Systems (HTS) efforts within the payments and FinTech domain, ensuring systems function according to requirements, industry standards, and regulatory expectations. The position serves as a subject matter expert, collaborates extensively with internal and external stakeholders, and provides guidance, mentoring, and coordination of testing activities.

What you’ll be responsible for:
- Independently plan, execute, and certify end-to-end and HTS testing efforts for new products and enhancements within payment processing environments.
- Create, maintain, and execute detailed test plans, certification scripts, and complex test scenarios.
- Interface regularly with internal Project Managers, Business Analysts, Developers, QA teams, product partners, vendors, and banking customer staff throughout certification efforts.
- Review system, functional, and business requirements to ensure adequate test coverage and certification readiness.
- Analyze results, document defects, perform causal analysis, and track issues to resolution.
- Coordinate certification and testing activities across multiple teams and external partners.
- Serve as a liaison between technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure requirements, timelines, and expectations are met.
- Support test environment readiness, data setup, execution scheduling, and certification timelines.
- Ensure adherence to QA standards, certification processes, and documentation requirements.
- Provide training, mentoring, and cross-training to less experienced QA team members.
- May assist with planning and coordinating the test activities of others on small to mid-sized initiatives.
- Communicate testing status, risks, and certification results to leadership and stakeholders.
- May perform other job duties as assigned.
What you’ll need to have:
- Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 8+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, software testing, or certification within complex systems.
- Experience in the payments, financial services, or FinTech industry.
- Strong knowledge of software testing lifecycle and software development lifecycle.
- Advanced understanding of test design techniques and QA methodologies.
- Working knowledge of basic accounting principles related to financial transactions and balancing.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and collaboration tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and Microsoft 365.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize work, and manage multiple testing efforts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
What would be nice for you to have:
- Experience supporting end-to-end certifications or host-based testing environments.
- Experience with EFT, ATM, debit, or retail banking transaction processing systems.
- In-depth familiarity with transaction processing standards such as ISO 8583 or ISO 20022.
- Experience with Unix-based operating systems, preferably IBM Unix environments.
- Experience with test automation or reviewing automated scripts (any framework).
- Prior experience mentoring, training, or acting in a lead or advisory QA role.
- Experience working in Agile or iterative development environments.
- Proven ability to act as a subject matter expert on complex QA, certification, or regulatory efforts.
