About The Program 
This is a 10-week program that begins June 3, 2019. This is a paid opportunity where a college student learns through application. JHA interns are fully immersed in the day to day activities of the business unit they are working in. Throughout the duration of the program, students will build upon their current skillsets and work in a collaborative environment while learning from subject matter experts across the organization. JHA Corporate Interns will participate in projects and company objectives that will result in creative solutions that inspire innovation both at JHA and across the FinTech industry.
The program kicks off with an orientation that will allow students to learn more about JHA’s award-winning company culture and three brands – Jack Henry Banking, Symitar, and ProfitStars. The internship will end with a trip to the corporate headquarters and a student led presentation. This presentation is an opportunity for all interns to showcase their internship experience with other JHA Associate’s. 

Internship Description
JHA’s PayCenter is seeking a Software Engineer Intern to join their team for Summer 2019. The PayCenter Team is a highly energized and motivated team that will provide the chosen candidate with collaborative projects that work directly with the IT Development Team. The Intern will work to design applications that will support the Team in monitoring transaction timing within the hub application; which will enable the PayCenter to identify key metrics in performance. In addition, the Intern will be trained in configuring the hub vendor product that will assist in future development and support of the system. 

The PayCenter Software Engineer Intern will have regular mentoring sessions with subject matter experts across the product group. The Intern will be expected to contribute and participate in Agile Scrum meetings which will result in the introduction to JHA’s SDLC process. 

There will be monthly Tech Huddles hosted within the Team where an Intern will be expected to present their work other members of the Team and other key-project personnel. 

This is an opportunity that involves heavy collaboration and places a strong emphasis on team-work and cross-team collaboration. Therefore, being a self-starter who has an eagerness to work with a team and demonstrates enthusiasm in teamwork is critical. 

Preferred qualifications include: 
Advanced working knowledge of Java, C#, SQL, and HTML. 
Microsoft and other modern programming/software engineering related certifications and/or an active desire to pursue such certifications 
A curiosity and drive to provide contemporary approaches and ideas with enough self-independence to follow that curiosity. 
Basic understanding of today’s modern Fintech industry.

Minimum Qualifications
Students Must:

Attend an accredited college or university.
Pursue a bachelor’s degree or higher in: Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Sciences, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Architecture and Engineering, or Computer Networks
Have a cumulative 3.0 GPA.
Remain in good academic standing throughout internship.
Meet JHA employment requirements. 
Be able to work up to 40 hours per week throughout the summer internship.
Be able to travel 25% of the time. 
Be a junior or senior student (sophomore year completed) at the beginning of internship.
Meet legal requirements to work in the U.S. for an indefinite period of time.
