As a System/Network Administrator III at Jack Henry, you’ll have the opportunity to drive innovation and build platforms that will help financial institutions innovate faster, differentiate strategically, and advocate for their members and communities. You’ll collaborate cross functionally with a diverse team of engineers, architects, leaders, product managers and customers to ensure we deliver high quality software that meets the needs of our users.
Our engineers manage cloud and/or on-prem solutions and are responsible for writing clean, maintainable code, implementing new features, resolving bugs, and fostering collaboration within the team. Successful engineers will have strong technical skills and effective grasp of software design principles, object-oriented programming concepts, and testing methodologies. Depending on the product group areas you contribute to, you'll have the opportunity to code in various modern languages and leverage cutting edge tools such as Scala, C#, Java, Ruby, Kotlin, Objective-C, Swift, Go, Docker, Kubernetes, Swagger/OpenAPI, Node.js, Redis, Postgres, Azure, Google Cloud (GCP) and more.

Our Tech Services Systems Operations team is thrilled to announce an opening for a System/Network Administrator II. We are seeking a candidate who excels in both collaborative settings and independent project management. The ideal applicant will be a dedicated and proactive professional, driven by a passion for innovation and process enhancement. A strong interest in emerging technologies, along with the expertise to create scripts, programs, and workflows that optimize tasks and procedures, is essential. A deep understanding of business needs and the ability to translate these into technical solutions are crucial. We foster a team culture centered on collaboration, transparency, mutual support, and collective growth, ensuring a rewarding team dynamic.
In this role, you'll be at the forefront of exploring and integrating new technologies, as well as maintaining and updating our documentation and system diagrams. Your daily tasks will involve configuration updates, scripting, and the testing and deployment of code to production servers. You'll provide crucial support by working with internal teams to enhance processes and configurations through automation. This position offers the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere in the United States.
The salary range for this position will be $60000-$90000. The salary will be based on several factors that include experience and geographical location, and set by the hiring manager.
What you'll be responsible for:
- Designs IT infrastructure solutions.
- Proposes and implements system enhancements (software and hardware updates) that will improve the performance and reliability of the system.
- Monitors systems for optimum performance and availability. Installs, configures and maintains systems. Troubleshoots and resolves internally reported system problems.
- Implements and monitors corporate security policies.
- Documents and implements system procedures, policies and events.
- Participates in on-call 24x7 support rotation.
- Performs essential functions required for effective system backup and restore testing.
- Performs periodic recovery testing of DR plans.
- May assist support groups with applications installed on various servers.
- May perform other job duties as assigned.
What you’ll need to have:
- Minimum of 2 years of IT experience with a focus on server and network management.
- Proficiency across various operating systems that include Windows Servers and workstations, Linux, MacOS, iOs, and Android platforms.
- Solid background with PowerShell scripting.
- Familiarity with cloud and device management solutions such as Azure, Intune, Jamf, Horizon View and SCCM.
- Ability to work in an on-call rotation that is one week every 2 months.
What would be nice for you to have:
- Bash and Python experience is a plus.
- Experience in UEX/DEX platforms such as ControlUp, Liquidware Stratosphere or LakeSide Systrack.
