The Network Security Infrastructure team at Jack Henry is seeking a highly experienced firewall subject matter expert to join our mission-critical team. This individual will provide the highest level of support for firewalls for the various business units within our enterprise environment and for our customers.  The majority of the daily work will involve working tickets out of the two main help desk ticket systems as well as installation, upgrades, and decommissioning of firewall equipment.  This is a fast-paced, critical position that requires the ability to adhere to best practices, adhere to internal standards and procedures, and work under demanding deadlines.

There is an on-call rotation as part of this position, and you would be required to carry a company-provided cell phone for urgent customer calls.

This position can be based to work out of any Jack Henry office or remote from any US location. Travel expectations for this role are up to 5% for team meetings. Salary range for this position is $109-190k, depending on candidate experience and geographic location.

What you’ll be responsible for:

• Researches, recommends and implements changes to enhance systems security.
• Responsible for security design (including firewalls, routers and switches) and setting standards.  
• Designs and builds various network monitoring systems and tools.
• Installs and configures network security components.
• Responsible for documentation and process improvement.
• Resolves escalated security cases.
• Completes security-related projects as assigned.
• Provides assistance to less experienced team members.
• Configures firewall rules for both internal and external customers
• Conducts life-cycle management of firewalls within the environment
• Ensures documentation for all firewall rules are completed in accordance to internal policies and other industry regulations.
• Completes security-related projects as assigned.
• May perform additional tasks as assigned.

What you’ll need to have:

• Must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in network technology, firewall, and/or information security.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience with Palo Alto firewalls.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience with VMWare NSX.
• Experience providing network security support in a large enterprise environment.

What would be nice for you to have:   

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Networking and/or security industry-standard certifications.
• Familiarity with principles of network architecture.
