Senior Manager, Data Governance

The Senior Manager, Data Governance leads the development and implementation of a comprehensive data governance framework across the enterprise. This role is crucial in defining data standards, policies, and procedures to ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance. The Senior Manager, Data Governance collaborates with subject matter experts (SMEs) and data stewards to establish clear data standards that drive business value. This position requires strong leadership, exceptional organizational skills, and a passion for understanding data intricacies.
This position may be worked remotely within the United States, with the exception of California. All positions, regardless of location, may require an onsite interview or in-person onboarding requirement to verify your identity.
What you’ll be responsible for:
- Contributes to the development and actively drive the execution of the data governance strategy aligned with the company's overall business objectives and data strategy.
- Supports the implementation and ongoing maintenance of the data governance framework, including policies, standards, procedures, and roles and responsibilities.
- Takes ownership of the process to define data standards for schemas, data content (including enumerations, formats, and definitions), and data quality rules across various data domains, working closely with SMEs.
- Builds strong working relationships and collaborate effectively with data owners, data stewards, IT teams, legal, compliance, and business stakeholders across the enterprise to foster agreement on data governance principles and standards.
- Assists in the design and actively participate in workshops and working sessions with SMEs and data stewards to efficiently define data standards and resolve data-related issues, contributing to clear and timely decisions.
- Contributes to the development and monitoring of data quality processes and actively work to ensure adherence to defined data quality standards.
- Champions efforts to document data assets, lineage, and metadata, ensuring accessibility and understanding of data across the organization.
- Learns and effectively utilizes data governance tools and technologies to support the implementation and enforcement of data standards and policies.
- Assists in the development and delivery of training and communication materials to promote data governance awareness and understanding across the organization.
- Contributes to the tracking of key metrics to monitor the effectiveness of the data governance program and assist in the preparation of reports for leadership.
- Works collaboratively within the data governance team and demonstrates initiative in driving tasks to completion.
- Performs other duties as assigned
What you’ll need to have:
- Minimum of eight years of experience in a related field.

- Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Data Science, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
