We are hiring a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join a high-performing team within our Infrastructure Core Services group. Infrastructure Core Services teams are focused on delivering compute, network, data, secrets management and workload orchestration in the cloud. The core teams spearhead the migration of workload from on premise data centers to GCP. We partner with our infrastructure platform teams to deliver pipelines, identity, observability, tooling and security within the platform. We partner with product engineering teams to build performant, scalable, and secure services that are responsible for transactions, payments, deposits, transfers, auth, and platform integrations.

This position can be based to work out of any Jack Henry office or remotely from any US location. There is a weekly on-call rotation. May require occasional travel, up to 5% for meetings, trainings, or conferences.

What you’ll be responsible for:

• Plan, design and build the core infrastructure systems used by Jack Henry's development and engineering teams
• Debug critical production infrastructure issues that may impact multiple sites and services
• Focus on site state and health with the discipline that allows us to easily and automatically move workloads to avoid failure
• Work with engineering teams to understand their priorities and emerging needs to prioritize solutions that keep pace with product development
• May perform other duties as assigned.

What you’ll need to have:

• Minimum of 6 years of experience in software development and/or infrastructure as code.
• Experience with Windows and Linux OS administration.
• Experience in AWS, Azure, and/or GCP. 

What would be nice for you to have:

• Strong experience with declarative infrastructure environments using Terraform, Kubernetes, Istio, and GCP-native services.
• Deep automation skills using GitHub Workflows and infrastructure orchestration.
• Solid cloud networking expertise: VPC architecture, subnets, routes, firewall rules, hybrid and multi-cloud networks, DNS.
• Proficient in managing SSL/TLS certificate lifecycles with automation—issuance, renewal, deployment, rotation.
• Ability to write maintainable code in languages such as Go or Python.
• Experience with multiple aspects of executing cloud migrations involving refactoring of legacy workloads and dependency mapping.
• Capable of switching contexts across multiple domains—networking, infrastructure, code, and assisting application teams.
• Advanced Unix/Linux shell skills for automation, scripting, and debugging.
• Knowledge of Windows workloads and powershell skills for automation, scripting, and debugging.
• Familiar with the full software development lifecycle, code reviews, including agile practices and iterative delivery.
• Experience building and scaling data platforms with services like Spanner, AlloyDB, Redis, Pub/Sub, and BigQuery.
• Knowledge of industry best practices for securing cloud infrastructure.
• Comfortable working with observability tooling—Prometheus, Honeycomb, DataDog for monitoring and tracing.
• Bachelor’s Degree.
