You’ll collaborate cross functionally with a diverse team of engineers, architects, leaders, product managers and customers to ensure we deliver high quality software that meets the needs of our users.
Our engineers manage cloud and/or on-prem solutions and are responsible for writing clean, maintainable code, implementing new features, resolving bugs, and fostering collaboration within the team. Successful engineers will have strong technical skills and effective grasp of software design principles, object-oriented programming concepts, and testing methodologies. Depending on the product group areas you contribute to, you'll have the opportunity to code in various modern languages and leverage cutting edge tools such as Scala, C#, Java, Ruby, Kotlin, Objective-C, Swift, Go, Docker, Kubernetes, Swagger/OpenAPI, Node.js, Redis, Postgres, Azure, Google Cloud (GCP) and more.

Network Security Engineer
The Network Security Infrastructure team at Jack Henry is looking for a Network Security Engineer to join our mission-critical team. This position will involve implementing firewall changes and troubleshooting firewall issues for the various business units within our enterprise environment and for our customers. The majority of the daily work will involve working tickets out of the two main help desk ticket systems as well as installation, upgrades, and decommissioning of firewall equipment. This is a fast-paced, critical position that requires the ability to adhere to best practices, adhere to internal standards and procedures, and work under demanding deadlines.
This position can be based to work out of any Jack Henry office or remote from any US location. Working hours are 8am- 5pm CST. There is an on-call rotation as part of this position, you would be required to work occasional after work hours and carry a company-provided cell phone for use during on-call rotation as well as urgent issues.
What you’ll be responsible for:
- Researches, recommends and implements changes to enhance systems security.
- Designs and builds various network monitoring systems and tools.
- Provides assistance to less experienced team members.
- Responds to alerts and security related issues.
- Performs incident response and handles escalated cases; identifies unauthorized access to systems; may inventory computers for unauthorized programs and policy violations.
- Provides moderately complex troubleshooting and customer support regarding security related issues.
- Configures firewall rules for both internal and external customers
- Conducts life-cycle management of firewalls within the environment
- Ensures documentation for all firewall rules are completed in accordance to internal policies and other industry regulations.
- Completes security-related projects as assigned.
- May perform additional tasks as assigned.
What you’ll need to have:
- Must have a minimum of 4 years of experience in network technology, firewall, and/or information security in a large enterprise environment.
- Extensive VMWare NSX firewall experience
- Palo Alto next-gen firewall experience on migration and configuration.
- This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
What would be nice for you to have:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Networking and/or security industry-standard certifications.
