Mobile QA Tester: Advisor

Mobile QA Tester will be joining our Mobile Engineering team that is responsible for building mobile applications natively in both Android and iOS as well as using modern web components. In this role, you will focus on testing the newest features in our apps and searching for any degraded functionality or performance. You will be a key member of each new feature project, working with product managers and development teams at every stage of the project, to highlight potential risks for new products and features. You will create plans for testing, including test environment requirements while working closely with other members of the test team. This position offers remote flexibility within a 70-mile radius of any of our office locations in Allen, TX; Birmingham, AL; Cedar Falls, IA; Charlotte, NC; Lenexa, KS; Louisville, KY;
Must be able to travel up to 10% to attend onsite meetings or trainings.
What you’ll be responsible for:
- Manually test applications using exploratory methods, and where appropriate create test plans and scripts for new products or features. Define comprehensive scenarios and variations in data to adequately perform testing.
- Review and provide feedback on requirements, design, or scope documents. Help set standards for test design.
- Lead testing efforts for new products or features.
- Coordinate and perform highly complex technical projects from initiation through delivery.
- Interact with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and development teams to identify and refine test requirements.
- Schedule and perform functional, integration, regression, and release testing; submit issues to development for correction, and retests once issues have been corrected. Report test results and status as appropriate. Track defects and causal analyses to closure. Act independently to review and certify test results of other analysts and testers.
- May perform other job duties as assigned.
What you’ll need to have:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in Android and/or iOS software testing.
- Minimum of 5 years within FinTech (Financial Technology) industry.
- Experience with project management software Jira, Rally, Azure DevOps, Fogbugz or Github Issues.
- Experience with source control tools Git, GitHub or BitBucket.
- Experience testing API’s with Paw or Postman AND using proxy tools Charles or Proxyman.
- Experience with native IDE’s Xcode or Android Studio with the ability to build and collect debug information from an application.
- Experience with accessibility testing on both mobile and web applications.
- Ability to be effective in an organization whose staff all works remotely.
- Ability to use independent judgment to plan, prioritize and organize a diversified workload.
What would be nice for you to have:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience with scripting (Shell and JavaScript).
- Advanced understanding of test design and testing methodologies.
- Knowledge in UX standards for iOS and Android applications.
- Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.
- Experience with financial and/or banking applications.
- Experience working with in progress branches and working alongside the developers as they implement new features. Digging into the code, when needed, to identify issues and assist in the debugging process.
