Jack Henry has an opportunity available for a technically-minded, motivated, and dedicated individual to join our team of Computer Operators in an enhanced role as a Business Analyst This role will be responsible for monitoring and alerting hosted Symitar client core processing. This position plays an integral part in keeping our Financial Institution clients up and running to serve their members.
This position will support the operations staff that monitors Financial Institution scheduled jobs and file exchanges, the position will also support and correct job failures and associated configurations. The latter is under the guidance of supervisors and senior job automation specialists.
To be successful in this role you must possess strong technical computer skills. Experience working with complex applications and processes. Be attentive, and organized, and follow established procedures and guides. Have strong written and verbal communication skills to articulate issues or problems to the team or other groups within the organization.
This position is 4 x 10-hour shift on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday 7:00 pm-5:00 am central time. Position can be worked remotely from anywhere in the United States This position will also be required to work holidays as needed. Jack Henry provides all the equipment necessary for this position except your high-speed internet connection.
This Operator/Business Analyst has two primary roles and responsibilities: Operations and automation job support. Selected applicants will undergo several weeks of progressive training covering the technical aspects of applications, systems, processes, and procedures within operations.
Those responsibilities are as follows:
Automation Job Support:
- Provides comprehensive technical support for automated job failures. (Symitar Core System and/or OpCon.)
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and collect data to identify the root cause of job failures.
- Works closely with internal resources to resolve level-one technical job failures.
- Execute AIX commands for system navigation in correlation to job failure resolution.
- Understand the Business Process Lifecycle from implementation to monitoring to continuous improvement of job automation processes.
- Contribute to and maintain documentation related to operator processes and procedures.
Operations
- Ability to Thrive in High-Pressure Environments: The role requires someone who can stay composed and effective during high-stress situations.
- Strong Prioritization Skills for Critical Processes: Role demands assessing and prioritizing tasks based on various criticality and urgency criteria.
- Monitors application consoles and other online systems.
- Respond to job anomalies and failures with appropriate actions and escalations.
- Maintains operational records, checklists, and procedures to ensure accuracy and completion of functions.
- Participates in disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution.
- Completes the shift turnover documents for the next shift and reviews the shift turnover reports from the previous shift.
- Follow established operational guidelines, procedures, and policies to ensure the integrity of client job processing.
- Follow established guidelines, procedures, and policies to ensure the security of data and computer systems.
- Provides support to customers and internal users in a professional and courteous manner.
- Contact the Operations Supervisor for assistance as needed.
- Provide mentoring, coaching, and assist less experienced peers.
- May perform other operator job duties as assigned.
What you’ll need to have:
- Experience with the Symitar Core System and/or OpCon.
- Minimum 18 months of experience doing IT, Application Support or Technical Analysis.
- Must be available to modify your work schedule as needed.
- Ability to work the required shift overnights, weekends, and holidays.
What would be nice for you to have:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Data processing or IT experience at a credit union or financial institution.
- Excellent customer relations and service skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Able to use independent judgment to plan, prioritize, and organize a diversified workload.
- Able to assist in creating process and procedure documentation.
- Experience with FTP processes and FTP applications.
- Experience working directly with customers face-to-face or over the phone.
- Experience using Microsoft Office to monitor alerts and communications from systems and to correspond with teams and operators as needed.
