Senior Manager of Travel Operations

To be successful in this job as the Senior Manager of Travel Operations, the applicant needs to strive to exceed customer expectations. This individual will be expected to develop a unified team of professionals who proactively facilitate travel in a seamless and efficient manner as well as lead and develop top performers who are empowered to feel confident in their ability and encouraged by their circumstances. The ideal candidate will also have the ability to critically evaluate operating practices, and vendor contracts to manage travel efficiently. 

This position is a hybrid role requiring at least 2 days per week in any of the following office locations: Allen, TX; Monett, MO; Springfield, MO; Lenexa, KS or Louisville, KY.

What you'll be responsible for: 

• Responsible for executing efficient operations involving training, education, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). 
• Manages “Managed Travel” plans and programs for all company employees.
• Performs an analysis of travel data for accuracy and recommends ways to improve our managed travel program.
• Works in collaboration with Travel VP and Procurement to negotiate contracts with travel agencies and suppliers. 
• Responsible for adherence to cost control and effectiveness in respective business unit.

• Maintains a high level of morale within the travel group and, when possible, all Travel Department employees, in order to increase employee retention, encourage excellent customer service, and enrich the quality and quantity of corporate and commercial travel counselors.
• May perform other job duties as assigned. 

What you'll need to have: 

•  Minimum of 8 years of experience managing vendors, contracts or internal operating procedures.
• Ability to be an immersive learning leader. 
• Previous leadership experience managing a team of individuals.
• Highly skilled in both verbal and written communication.

What would be nice for you to have: 

•  Experience managing P+L and the skill to critically evaluate the value of a contract or how KPI’s effect the business.
• Bachelor’s degree.
