As a Network Engineer II: Compliance & Process Documentation at Jack Henry, you’ll have the opportunity to drive innovation and build platforms that will help financial institutions innovate faster, differentiate strategically, and advocate for their members and communities. You’ll collaborate cross functionally with a diverse team of engineers, architects, leaders, product managers and customers to ensure we deliver high quality software that meets the needs of our users.
Our engineers manage cloud and/or on-prem solutions and are responsible for writing clean, maintainable code, implementing new features, resolving bugs, and fostering collaboration within the team. Successful engineers will have strong technical skills and effective grasp of software design principles, object-oriented programming concepts, and testing methodologies. Depending on the product group areas you contribute to, you'll have the opportunity to code in various modern languages and leverage cutting edge tools such as Scala, C#, Java, Ruby, Kotlin, Objective-C, Swift, Go, Docker, Kubernetes, Swagger/OpenAPI, Node.js, Redis, Postgres, Azure, Google Cloud (GCP) and more.

Jack Henry’s enterprise network engineering team is offering a great career opportunity for talented individuals to assist with compliance, vulnerability, and process documentation functions. This individual will gain a comprehensive understanding of our networking environment, using this knowledge to document processes and procedures, identify areas for improvement, assist with audits and compliance functions, and support our engineers in basic network administration and lifecycle tasks.
The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of network engineering, a visionary mindset, and a passion for enhancing every environment they work in. Jack Henry's network infrastructure spans from our multifaceted datacenter environment to millions of users at our financial institution customers, meaning the seemingly small changes made by this individual will have a significant ripple effect!
This position can be worked remotely from the following hub locations:

What you'll be responsible for:
- Provide clear technical documentation and written procedures for the Network Engineering organization.
- Network Vulnerability Management: Tracking and management of vulnerabilities and managing mitigation activities against enterprise SLAs and standards.
- Audit/Exam Response: Perform data collection and documentation in response to Audit and Examination requests.
- Compliance documentation: Ongoing documentation of information required for adhering to compliance requirements. This includes confirmation of standards and connectivity diagrams.
- Ensuring devices are appropriately entered and tracked in ServiceNow’s CMDB.
- Supporting other Network team members in lifecycle management activities such as firmware upgrades, or retirement of legacy devices.
- May perform other job duties as assigned.
What you'll need to have:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in any combination of the following: network engineering or administration, network security, firewall management, audit/compliance/incident response documentation.
- Must have experience with documentation or written communication in a technical environment.
- Must have strong Microsoft Excel skills that include using tools such as V-Lookup and inventory management.
- Vulnerability Management: Proficiency with vulnerability assessment tools.
- Ability to travel up to 5% for team meetings, training events, and onsite physical infrastructure work.
What would be nice for you to have:
- Associates degree or higher.
- Compliance Standards: In depth knowledge of financial industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., PCI DSS, SOX).
- Experience working in a datacenter, NOC, or SOC.
- MSP experience.
- Certifications: Network+, Security+, CCNA or equivalent, SSCP.
- ServiceNow, GitHub, Jira, Kenna.
- Microsoft Power BI Platform experience.
