About the Program
Our 10-week, paid Corporate Internship Program begins June 1, 2020. This program offers college students the opportunity to fully immerse in the day-to-day activities of the business unit. Throughout the program, students will build upon their current skillsets and work in a collaborative environment, while learning from subject matter experts across the organization. They will participate in projects that work toward company objectives,resulting in new solutions that inspire innovation both at JHA and across the fintech industry.
JHA’s Corporate Events team has an opening for an intern to join their team! In this opportunity, the chosen candidate will work within Cvent and CrowdCompass to collect data and convert the data into measurable outcomes to better understand how the team can fully utilize these platforms and leverage the found solutions. Additionally, the intern will assist with the planning and implementation of corporate events and any duties needed by the team to execute the events successfully. This opportunity will give someone, with an interest in a corporate events career, a great preview to all facets of event planning and management.
About the Corporate Events team
The Corporate Events group provides event/conference planning support for a variety of JHA meetings and conferences.
The Corporate Events team researches and secures meeting and sleeping-room space for JHA-related meetings and conferences, including the Jack Henry Annual Conference (JAC), Symitar Educational Conference (SEC), and National Sales & Marketing Meeting (NSMM). We plan events both onsite at Jack Henry locations and at offsite venues, as well as coordinate room sets and menus with the venue. We also facilitate the JAC & SEC technology expos. By way of our registration system, we coordinate and facilitate the registration process for hundreds of attendees (clients, employees and vendors) throughout the year and give support to anyone that has questions. For many of the conferences, we work together with a variety of JHA departments to ensure successful events. The events team also coordinates and plans the company’s participation at a variety of tradeshows throughout the year.
A Student Must:
- Currently be enrolled at an accredited university or college
- Pursue a bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, General Marketing, Business Administration, Public Relations, or Corporate/Organizational Communications
- Have and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Be able to work up to 40 hours per week throughout the summer internship with minimum absences
- Completed their sophomore year of college (at minimum)
- Meet legal requirements to work in the U.S. for an indefinite period of time
- General understanding of the FinTech industry
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
- Excels in all Microsoft Office applications
- Willing to travel for specific events and projects
