Systems Engineer (Splunk)

Job Description

If so, this position could be perfect for you!  We’re seeking to hire a Systems Engineer who will participate in overall planning, design, and implementation of enterprise monitoring and security systems throughout Jack Henry.  In this role, candidates will participate in optimization and enhancing of our Splunk environment to ensure future demand requirements are being met.  This is a highly collaborative team, partnering with other team such as data center, network architecture and system designs to work together and find success on multiple projects. 

About this Team:

Working as part of the Cyber Security Services and reporting to the Information Security Manager, this team provides operational and technical support for the Integration Applications and Solutions for financial institutions, Jack Henry Vendors and Jack Henry complementary products.   This team is dispersed across 4 geographic office locations.  The ideal candidate will enjoy working on a collaborative team, working on multiple projects and be competent with information security principles and theories.

Locations:

This position can be worked from the following locations: Lenexa, KS, Springfield, MO, Monett, MO or Allen, TX.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 18 months of experience as a Systems Engineer/Administrator in an enterprise environment
  • Minimum 12 months of experience with Splunk administration.
  • Must have experience with SIEM products.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure concepts and principles.
  • Basic project management skills.
  • Basic knowledge of information security theory and design.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provide operational system administration support for enterprise applications in a high availability, 24x7x365 environment.
  • Assists with IT functions such as design, analysis, evaluation, testing, debugging and implementation of applications programs in support of one or more functional areas.
  • Analyzes, installs, acquires, modifies and supports operating systems, database or utilities software.
  • Perform troubleshooting, resolution and problem analysis.
  • Monitor alerting systems and servers.
  • Review issues logs and network capacity reports to identify trends and solutions that should be implemented enterprise-wide.
  • Maintain in-depth documentation of activities and system configuration.
  • Assists with the preparation of systems assessments or certifications.
  • Assists with the execution of test processes and scenarios, track results, and make recommendations of system fixes.
  • Assist with network disaster recovery initiatives. Implement solutions to streamline disaster recovery.
