With this role on our iOS team, you’ll collaborate across engineering, design, product, and customer support to help improve one of our industry-leading mobile clients.

As a Senior Software Engineer: iOS, you will be part of the team shaping the evolution of the iOS mobile client. In this role you will help lead and contribute to projects regarding the overall architecture of the application, as well as the smaller components it is comprised of. You will work among talented engineers to develop and implement long term maintenance and codebase evolution initiatives.

This position can be based to work out of any Jack Henry office or remotely from any US location. Salary range for this position is $90-170k, depending on candidate experience and geographic location.

What you’ll be responsible for: 

• Completes product technical design and prototyping, software development, bug verification and resolution.  
• Performs system analysis and programming activities which may require extensive research and analysis.
• Provides technical/engineering support for new and existing applications from code delivery until the retirement of the application.
• Provides both individual and budget-level tasks and product effort estimates/costs.
• Ensures timely, effective, and quality delivery of software into production, both at an individual and team level.
• Develops and tests applications based on business requirements and industry best practices.
• Creates required technical documentation.
• Adheres to documented departmental and corporate standards.  Participates in the definition and documentation of standards.
• Collaboratively works with QA team to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products.
• Collaboratively works with customer support team to resolve or diagnose defects.
• Performs release validation testing and beta support for projects.
• Researches problems and develops solutions to the problems.
• Conducts unit testing and integration testing for functionality and limits.
• Assists in training and mentoring less experienced peers.
• May contribute to product architecture.
• May assist less experienced peers.
• May perform other job duties as assigned. 

What you’ll need to have:

• Bachelor’s degree. 
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in software engineering, with at least 4 years working with Apple platforms.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience with the Objective-C and Swift programming languages, and the ability to evolve a mixed-language codebase.
• Experience across any or all of the following frameworks: Foundation, CoreData, UIKit, and SwiftUI.
• Knowledge of Swift Package Manager for dependency management.
• The ability to advocate for and articulate native platform design paradigms.
• A demonstrable desire for continuous learning and improvement.
• The ability to communicate effectively across varying experience levels and disciplines.
• Ability to travel up to 5% to attend JH meetings, trainings, and/or professional conferences.

What would be nice for you to have:  

• Experience in structured concurrency.
• Comfortability with additional scripting and markup languages such as: Ruby, YAML, Python, and Stencil.
• Knowledge of any of the following frameworks: AuthenticationServices, AppIntents, PassKit, Charts, CoreML, ProximityReader, or VisionKit.
• Experience building REST APIs.
• Experience on Apple platforms outside iOS (macOS, tvOS, or watchOS).
• Experience with any of the following tools: Jira, Figma, GitHub, Azure Dev Ops, Jenkins, or Fastlane.
