Accounting Manager

We are seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee our Finance Contract Management Team, which supports internal business units in accounts receivable and end-of-month billing functions. This is a high-functioning fast-paced team of approximately 16 individuals. The manager will be tasked with overseeing personnel responsibilities including coaching, training, and task delegation. Additionally, they will be a high-level resource for problem solving and asked to provide additional support for accounting functions when needed. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation of accounts receivable knowledge as well as a documented history of helping their teams achieve their full potential.
This position will be filled to work at the following Jack Henry office locations: Monett, MO or Springfield, MO. This is a hybrid role with one day per week in the office—potentially more for meetings or other project work.
What you’ll be responsible for:
- Manages the development, implementation and maintenance all accounting systems, including but not limited to: Journal entries, General Ledger, Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payable, Revenue Reconciliation, Cash Flows, etc. in accordance with GAAP policies and procedures.
- Designs operational procedures and processes that meet audit standards and improve efficiency.
- Ensures integration of data produced into systems and supports objectives of financial analysts.
- Participates in annual audits and special projects.
- May work with external consultants or auditors to provide required information and ensure proper recordkeeping for historical purposes.
- Ensures area of responsibility is in compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX).
- May assist in budgeting and forecasting processes.
- May perform other job duties as assigned.
What you’ll need to have:
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting, billing, accounts receivable, budgeting, and/or quality assurance.
- Previous experience as a manager or supervisor.
- Ability to travel up to 10% to attend a JH meeting, training, and/or professional conferences.
What would be nice for you to have:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher.
- CPA certification.
- Experience with MS Excel (pivot tables, macros, and advanced formulas).
- Salesforce experience.
