Information Security Engineer

Are you someone who has strong experience with information security and has extensive knowledge with third party security products? 

If so, then this position might be perfect for you!  Jack Henry & Associates is seeking to hire a seasoned Information Security Engineer. Candidates in this role will be focused on providing and ensuring security of the company by providing support to system monitoring, data security and processes, planning and documentation and configuration of third party products.  Ideal candidates will have extensive third-party security product experience with such products as Enforcive and NetIQ, as well as deep understanding of the Power I/iSeries/AS400 for system and security administration.   Candidates will also be involved with new security products and services in a distributed data center environment. Strong analysis experience in being able to run reports and evaluate for security risks and checkpoints. 

About this Team:

Jack Henry & Associates OutLink Audit and Security group is responsible for providing security monitoring, as well as audit and regulatory governance for OutLink Data Centers.  OutLink Data Centers provide outsourced solutions for all of Jack Henry’s Core products and most complimentary products for both banks and credit unions.  This team is made up of 5 team members which include Audit Support Analysts, Information Security Engineers and the Information Security Manager working as part of this remote and dynamic team. 


This position can be worked from the following locations; Springfield, MO, Monett, MO, Allen, TX, Houston, TX or Charlotte, NC offices.


  • Must have 5 years of experience in information security in a highly regulated industry (i.e. Financial, Insurance, Medical, Government). 
  • Must have 5 years of experience working with Power i/iSeries/AS400 security and systems administration.
  • Must have 3 years of experience working with any 4 of these 3rd party security products; Enforcive, NetIQ, PowerTech or Cilasoft.


  • Knowledge of IBM security best practices, iSeries, AS400 OS, IT audit, policies, vulnerability risk remediation, and regulatory requirements, (i.e., GLBA, FFIEC, PCI, etc.)
  • Additional iSeries, MS-OS, or AIX OS knowledge is a plus.
  • Ability to perform analysis and assessment of application security is also a strong plus. 


  • Develops policies, procedures, standards and guidelines to ensure security.
  • Investigates, recommends and monitors implementation of security products and services.
  • Monitors and evaluates internal and external security threats.  Researches security and recommends appropriate changes.
  • Acts as an escalation point for complex internal security and support functions.
  • Manages high level projects that drive current security initiatives and support security solutions.
  • Monitors security of systems for compliance.
  • Follows up on security findings from security related reviews and other third-party reviews.
