Network Security Engineer

The Network Security Engineer will report to the Cyber Security Services Senior Manager within Security and Compliance Services and will work with a team of 4 other engineers providing vulnerability lifecycle management and tracking services. This position will be responsible for researching, discovering and tracking vulnerabilities using vulnerability management toolsets, including scanning and logging/SIEM systems.


  • 18 months of information technology, information security, or networking experience. 


  • Bachelor's degree in a CIS related field.  
  • CCNA , CISSP, or other network/security related certification
  • Experience with GRC systems, vulnerability scanning management tools, and penetration testing.  


  • Researches, recommends and implements changes to enhance systems security.
  • Responsible for security design (including firewalls, IPS and VPN) and setting standards. 
  • Designs and builds various network monitoring systems and tools.
  • Installs and configures network security components.
  • Responsible for documentation and process improvement.
  • Resolves escalated security cases.
  • Completes security-related projects as assigned.
  • Provides assistance to less experienced team members.
  • May install and configure network security components in addition to log reviews and analyses. 
  • Performs regularly scheduled security and vulnerability audits and determines corrective actions needed.  
  • Coordinates third party network security assessments and provides detail reports and remediation recommendations.  
  • Conducts industry research and provides recommendations for emerging trends and network security practices.
