Job Description

Jack Henry & Associates is seeking an entry-level Programmer Analyst candidate who wants to start and build their programmer career!  Candidates will be part of an iSeries/AS400 implementation team that travels extensively onsite to various clients assisting with the installation of JHA’s core products. In this role, you will provide technical expertise and programming support to the team throughout the entire install process, as well support existing software for enhancements, bug fixes and maintenance programming for external and internal clients. 

This role can will be worked out of either Monett, MO or Springfield, MO locations.  Jack Henry offers an excellent work environment, competitive benefits package and career advancement!


  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in programming using any language in a professional and/or educational environment. 
  • Ability to work some weekends.
  • Travel required - up to 50%.


  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree highly preferred.
  • 1 year of experience working in a corporate environment. 
  • RPGLE, SQL, and CLLE on IBM iSeries OS/400 operating system knowledge and experience.
  • Knowledge of data reporting tools such as Query.


  • Consulting with client to design parameter set, assisting bank with validation of data conversion.
  • Will communicate with client, application analysts and other programmer team members.
  • Develops programming code for existing software enhancements. 
  • Devises block diagrams, logic procedures and prepares flowcharting.
  • Troubleshoots and debugs existing code.
  • Tests code and fixes to ensure quality.
  • Develops conversion and system implementation plans; implements newly created code and fixes into existing software.
  • Provides programming support for various interfaces.
  • Keeps customers informed of all enhancements, troubleshooting, and fixes.
  • Creates all programming documentation.
