Job Description

Symitar, a Jack Henry & Associates company, has a need for a Technical Business Analyst to join our Symitar Solutions team in our Allen, TX office.  The Symitar Solutions team provides development, install and support for the Episys data warehouse product (ARCU) and develops products for the Episys and CruiseNet credit unions.

While working within Symitar Solutions, the Technical Business Analyst serves as a liaison between customers and development departments during the entire product development phase.  This role contributes to the software development process by ensuring complete and accurate documentation of system requirements.  Tasks assigned to this level require an in-depth and broader understanding of problem identification, analysis and resolution. Solutions are reviewed upon completion with regard to business and technical soundness and appropriateness.

Specific duties of individual assignments vary and non-business process analysis and other work may be assigned at a minimal level. These other duties will include general analytical assignments.



  • Minimum of 18 months of experience as a Business Analyst in an Information Technology environment.
  • Previous work experience in the financial services industry.



  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Experience with new and existing product specifications.
  • Experience with transactional and report based systems.
  • Ability to write and execute QA test cases.
  • Experience writing user documentation.
  • Ability to write use cases.
  • Experience designing user interfaces.
  • Business Intelligence exposure is a plus.
  • Previous work in a Credit Union environment or with Credit Union software products.
  • Direct experience in a software development organization.
  • Ability to gather and interpret relevant data and information.
  • Ability to abstract complex technical concepts and communicate them to the masses.



  • Interacts with customers to gather system requirements.
  • Defines the system and functional requirements of the product.
  • Prepares business requirements and functional specifications.
  • Serves as a resource and/or participant in business process re-design activities. Assists the customer in determining if and how system enhancements may improve process flow and business function.
  • May perform application, system and regression tests.
  • Responsible for creating business requirements and system documentation, as well as contributing to end-user and project management documentation.
  • Works with quality assurance and programming teams to ensure changes are migrated into production correctly.
  • Interacts with technical teams to convey business requirements.
  • Works with industry research groups to prepare for product trends.
